Services by Appointment

  • HIV Clinic: The TSHC HIV Clinic provides testing and information on preventing HIV. TSHC now offers three forms of testing. OraQuick Advance is a confidential rapid HIV test that uses oral fluids, takes 20 to 40 minutes to show test results, and costs $45. The HIV Blood test is a confidential HIV test that uses blood, takes two to three days for results, and costs $25. Free testing is offered through our community-based partner Big Bend Cares. These tests take two weeks for results to come back. Appointments can be made by calling 644-8871 or 644-4567.
  • Nutrition: Healthy eating and nutrition issues are prevalent concerns on many college campuses. TSHC offers nutrition counseling to all fee-paying students. Services are provided by registered, licensed dieticians.
  • There is a $15 charge for initial individual nutrition appointments and a $10 charge for follow-up visits.

Small group (four to five students) nutrition education sessions are held held daily in the nutrition clinic and are free of charge. The group will cover general healthy eating guidelines and will include:
    • Food pyramid and portion sizes.
    • Overcoming barriers to eating healthy as a college student.
    • Importance of balance, timing, and planning of meals with quick and easy recipes and meal ideas.
    • How to avoid distracted eating situations.
    • Goal setting – examples of SMART goals.

Appointments can be made by calling 644-8871, Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 4:00. Or, you may stop by the fourth floor at room 402 to schedule an appointment.
