Health Promotion's mission: The health promotion model is evidence-based and data driven, creating a system of care that is student focused and partnership driven, promoting health and wellness to all students on and off campus. The roles of the environment, the individual and the community on health and wellbeing are impactful in lasting lifestyle changes. The Health Promotion department staff facilitates good health practices through a combination of efforts to:

1. Enhance awareness

2. Change behavior

3. Create a supportive environment

 

 

 

The Health Promotion staff follow the standards of practice for health promotion in higher education (ACHA, 2005) including: integration with the learning mission of higher education, collaborative practice with campus and community partnerships, cultural competency and inclusiveness, applying professionally recognized and tested theoretical and evidence-based approaches and engaging in ongoing professional development and service to the field.
