What is LIPS?

LIPS (Life Improvement Promotion Service) are peer health educators. LIPS is made up of five components which are:

  • FSU TODAY (For Sexual Understanding Today)
  • STRIKE (Student Tobacco Reform Initiative: Knowledge for Eternity)
  • SUNN (Student Understanding Nutrition Now)
  • THE LOC (Total Health & Empowerment for Ladies of Color)
  • KARMA (Knowing about Responsible Management of Alcohol and other Drugs)
  • RENEW (Realizing Everyone’s Need for Emotional Wellness)

LIPS volunteers are trained for doing presentations on sexual health, tobacco and smoking, nutrition, exercise and fitness, stress management, alcohol and other drugs, and other health related topics. LIPS is sponsored by Thagard Student Health Center.

LIPS Wants You!!!

If you are interested in becoming a LIPS volunteer recruitment is held year round. To become a LIPS member you just need to fill out an application which can be done on-line at www.tsch.fsu.edu or stop by the 4th floor of Thagard Student Health Center. You also must attend the training in the Fall. Approximately 35 students were active members last year.
