Confidential HIV Testing Procedure

1. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and go to the Health Promotion office (first office to the right). Thagard offers two types of HIV tests. OraQuick Advance is a rapid HIV test that uses oral fluids, takes 20 to 40 minutes to show test results, and costs $45. The HIV Blood test is an HIV test that uses blood, takes 2 to 3 days for results, and costs $25. An appointment can be made by calling 644-8871. Prices are subject to change without notice.
2. When you arrive for your pre-test counseling appointment, check in with the receptionist. A counselor will be with you shortly for your pre-test counseling.
3. After your appointment, you will be directed to our lab on the second floor to have your blood drawn if you are having a blood test.
4. To receive the results from your blood test and post-test counseling you will make another appointment for the following week. You must come in to receive your results. To protect your privacy, results will not be released over the phone. You will be assigned a number during your pre-test counseling session and will use this number to receive your results. This appointment will be scheduled prior to leaving the Health Center after your pre-test counseling.
