What is KARMA?

Knowing About Responsible Management of Alcohol and other Drugs

KARMA is a group of specially trained peer educators whose purpose is to educate others on the responsibilities and risks associated with drinking and the dangers of drug use. KARMA facilitates programs on campus and in the community.

KARMA is affiliated with BACCHUS & GAMMA Peer Education Network, an international of college and university based peer education programs focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other related student health and safety issues.

KARMA’s primary goals include:

  • Dispelling myths and increasing students’ knowledge of alcohol and other drug facts.
  • Promoting responsible, informed decisions regarding alcohol use or non-use.
  • Challenging students to think about the motivations behind their behaviors.
  • Encouraging students to seek assistance if they have problems with alcohol and other drugs.
